Melexis Mlx90109Edc-Aaa-000-Tu Rfid Module, 3.1 → 5.5V

The MLX90109 is a single chip RFID transceiver for the 125kHz frequency range. It has been conceived for minimum system cost and minimum power consumption offering all required flexibility for a state of the art AM transceiver base station.
An external coil (L) and capacitor (C) are connected as a parallel resonant circuit that determines the carrier frequency and the oscillator frequency of the reader. This eliminates zero modulation effects by perfect antenna tuning, and avoids the need for an external oscillator.
The reader IC can easily be switched to power down by setting the antenna amplitude to zero.
The MLX90109 can be configured to decode the transponder signal on-chip. In this case the decoded signal is available through a 2-wire interface with clock and data. For minimum interface wiring, the non-decoded transponder signal can also be made available on a single wire interface.

Melexis Surface Mount Position Sensor, Soic, 8-Pin

The MLX90316 is a Triaxis® rotary position sensor IC providing the angular position of a small dipole magnet rotating above the device surface (end-of-shaft magnet). Thanks to an IMC on its surface, the monolithic device senses, in a contactless fashion, the horizontal component of the applied magnetic flux density.
This unique sensing principle applied to a rotary position sensor results into an impressive robustness of the angular position over the mechanical (air-gap, off-axis) tolerances. The rotation of this horizontal component is sensed over a wide range (up to 360º) and processed by the on-chip DSP to ultimately report the absolute angular position of the magnet either as a ratiometric analogue output or as Pulse-Width Modulation (PWM) signal or as a 14-bit data accessible through a 3-pin SPI (serial interface) channel.
The output transfer characteristic is fully programmable (e.g. offset, gain, clamping levels, linearity, thermal drift, filtering, range, ...) to match any specific requirement through end-of-line calibration.

Melexis Surface Mount Hall Effect Sensor, Tsot, 3-Pin

The MLX90248 is most commonly found in mobile phone applications for detecting the open/close action of the lid (flip, slide and swivel type phones) and also to detect the (un)holstered condition of brick and smartphones. The goal of this detection is to switch on or off the power hungry displays, backlights and keypad illumination whenever the lid is opened or closed. Thereby maximizing battery life between charges.
The same operation principle can be simply applied to many other battery-powered devices like laptops, digital cameras and camcorders, music players and handheld gaming devices.
This very high sensitivity Hall sensor IC allows the use of only a very small and cheap magnet to trigger the MLX90248, hence it can easily replace a reed switch.
Several benefits derive from using a Hall sensor IC. One is to provide solid state switching, which is bounce-free, more reliable and with increased lifetime compared to usual mechanical contacts. The other is seamless pick and place manufacturing as the device is available in standard, lead-free and green surface mount technology.
