Lapp SKINTOP Metal Halogen Free Cable Gland
From Lapp, the Skintop series of cable glands presents a cable gland with halogen free components, ideal for areas where chemical stability is a priority. The MS-M gland is easy to install, and maintains a high degree of protection against environmental ingress. These screw on cable glands also provide strain relief to prevent wear and tear on the cable connection.
The Skintop series of cable glands have a rugged nickel-plated brass body, and as such have a high degree of mechanical resistance, ensuring a reliable and durable cable management solution for demanding environments.
The o-ring, insert and lamellar cage and seal insert for the lamellar cage are all halogen free and flame retardant, which qualifies them for use in specialist applications where protection of public and property are a high concern.
Features and Benefits
• Provides Strain Relief to Connecting Wire
• Halogen free and flame retardant components
• Hazard Level: HL 3
• Protection Rating of IP68 5 bar
• Robust, Durable Construction
• Operating Temperature Dynamic -25 °C up to +100 °C
• Operating Temperature Statically -40 °C up to +100 °C
• Metric Thread Sizes
Applications
Skintop halogen free cable glands are used in panels and junction boxes in various specialist environments where mechanical and chemical stability is a priority, such as:
• Measurement and Control Technology
• Plant Engineering
• Chemical Industry
Environment
These glands provide environmental protection up to IP68, which is highly resistant to dust ingress and waterproof even in shallow submersion.
As these glands provide a waterproof seal and are highly temperature and pressure resistant, they are ideal for harsh industrial environments and even some open air applications. They are also resistant to corrosion, and have a high resistance to acids and chemicals.
