• Mechanically strong What is mPPE? mPPE is a modified polyphenylene ether thermoplastic. Cables made from mPPE have a smaller wall thickness than other cables due to their dielectric properties. The fact that the cables are lighter allows them to be used in many different applications.
mPPE has a lower specific gravity compared to other jacket and insulation materials such as PVC and PE. This combined with the excellent dielectric properties allow the cables to be up to 65% lighter and thinner than conventional cables. How is the control cable environmentally friendly? Unlike PVC, cables made containing mPPE are halogen-free, contain no phthalates and are 100% recyclable and deemed to be environmentally friendly. What is halogen-free? If a cable is not made from materials that contain salt-forming fluorine, bromine, iodine or chlorine then it is defined as halogen-free.
