Yes, it actively mimics the outside noise, so that they cancel each other eliminating the noise that’s distracting you. Can the Peltor Alert Headset be connected to a mobile phone or MP3 player? Yes, an external jack and the supplied cable allows you to stream music from the radio or the internet. The volume is automatically muted when there is a call over the communication radio, or when you want to reach someone. Are ear muffs as effective as ear plugs?

For ear protection in high noise environments, ear plugs can offer a more complete level of noise reduction. However, ear muffs have advantages in that they don't have to be fit inside the ear, and so can be more comfortable, economic and hygienic.
