FTDI Chip USB To UART Cable The FTDI chip USB to UART cable is a fast and simple way to connect devices with a TTL level serial interface to USB. It is available with TTL logic level of 5V. Each cable contains a small internal electronic circuit board, utilising the FT232R, encapsulated into the USB connector at the end of the cable. The cable has a gauge of 24AWG and diameter of 5mm. They are terminated by a standard 3.5mm Audio Jack (AJ) connector. The circuit is powered from the USB using 5V power pins and any Vcc connection, always at 5VDC.
